US knows very well Iran doesn't have nuclear weapons program. US has spies all over Iran, US spy satellites are monitoring every square inch of Iran, US spy agencies are monitoring much of Iran's communication lines. In addition IAEA is acting as official spies. If there is anything to know about Iran then US knows it. What bugs Obama is that Iran has nuclear capabilities, it limits US options, so if US attacks Iran then Iran will go nuclear. So they want Iran to scrap its nuclear deterrence, so they have the option to bomb Iran. If Iran did scrap its nuclear program then the likes Kuperman will demand bombing Iran because Iran is terrorist, or because Ahmadinejad denied the holocaust, or they find some sort of moral justification to bomb Iran and they do it.
